This is a 12’ x 35’HO and HOn3 mining and logging layout set in the Colorado Rocky Mountains during the 1940’s. Its 200’ standard gauge mainline winds through canyons, over rivers and across a three-foot high wooden trestle. The scenery is 98% completed and it took over 900 pounds (almost a half ton) of plaster to build its mountainous features and mountain backdrops.
The F&SP connects to the rest of the world through the interchange with the Union Pacific R.R.
The main town of Fremont has a lumber mill operations and the town itself takes up the 5’ x 12’peninsula in the center of the layout room.
This is a super detailed museum quality layout with many individual scenes. Buildings include scratch built, kit-bashed, and kits from many manufactures. The HOn3 line was added in March 2008. The narrow gauge line hugs a 35’ long, four foot high mountain ledge to a peninsula containing a large thriving mining and logging community. There is a logging camp in the mountains above this town. The layout is operated with the Digitrax (DCC). All the engines are sound equipped.
